Yesterday (14/10/2024), the European Council adopted the text of the update of the CLP Regulation. Unlike the recently published 22nd ATP to CLP, the changes covered by the text of this update will go deeper, to more fundamental elements of the regulation.
These changes are intended to adapt the CLP Regulation to changing forms of sales, including the sale of products online or through refill stations. The update also aims to improve the safety of users of chemicals by increasing the readability of labels and introducing detailed requirements regarding, for example, font size or label background color.
The update of the CLP Regulation, as well as the planned changes to the REACH Regulation, are an extremely important element of the chemicals strategy for sustainable development, which is part of the European Green Deal.
Therefore, a number of changes will be introduced, about which we will keep you updated after the final text is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
